Twas the Frag before Christmas…

Twas the Frag before Christmas, when all through the map
Not a weapon was stirring, not even a sap
The blue sticky bombs were hung by the chimney with care
In the hopes that red soldier would soon be there
Happy holidays to all!

Borderlands is out for the console!
by Soylent Admin on Oct.20, 2009, under Computer Games, PC, Xbox 360

While many PC gamers roll their eyes, the FPS + RPG game Borderlands has been released for consoles almost a full week before the PC version comes out. Most of us here are waiting for the PC release because it will be a better game on the PC, but this gives us a great chance to see what kind of reception the game is getting.
www.bigshinyrobot.com has a review that rates it a ‘9′ over all. They comment on some of the elements, but really mention that because of the weapons drops, one might spend more time looking over their weapons more than anything else.
Meanwhile, over at Co-Optimus the reviewer think the game’s reception might suffer by the release of pure rpg anf pure fps games this season. But then mentions that the co-op play might pull it out of obscurity. Yes, I’m heavily paraphrasing…go and read the article on the site.
At TeamXbox they also rate it a ‘9′. They mention some problems like a few graphics glitches, and the dialog might need a little refreshing, but they also stress that these problems do not detract from the game. It’s still an awesome game.
Zerg Watch also has a favorable review. They too point out a few problems they had with the game after some 22 hours of console play in all modes. This time, they pointed out the AI having some difficulty at times, as well as a certain grind-factor in some of the quests. Travel and walking around were also mentioned as sometimes problematic. Overall they still said it was a great game.
Shacknews has a PC review. I’ll leave at that and put the link in the text. With release a week away for PCs We’ll wait until we’ve had the full experience before we throw our review out there.
G4TV rocks!
by Bill and Opus on Oct.15, 2009, under Misc
Unfortunately I don’t have it on my current cable set up and don’t want to pay the extra $$ a month, because that it the only other channel I want besides the ones I have. But here’s a great video from G4TV’s AOTS. I highly recommed the website. Lots of great stuff there.
